Chinese calligraphy styles: www.art-virtue.com/styles/
The cursive styles are good for turning brush stroke exercise and helpful for Chinese brush painting. Sometimes Chinese calligraphers mix cursive and semi-cursive styles in a work. Magic paper is used for writing in this video.

  • this is so beautuful!!! i just wonder if chinese people can really read cursive.... ive been studing mandarin for a year and i can, somehow, understand how semicursive works but cursive is impossible for me.....

  • @jsanchezpcr708 Thank you. Cursive Chinese calligraphy can only be understood by those who have learned to recognize them. Not all Chinese calligraphy students practice cursive styles. My parents, who were school teachers in Taiwan for four decades and do not practice calligraphy, will not understand cursive styles at all. As for me, I still need to look up some cursive characters from books and dictionaries occasionally, though I started learning this style in c. 1986. So please don't worry. :)

  • how did the writing get darker, is it when the ink dries?

  • This "Zen Board" uses water instead of ink.

Before the water evoparates from the board, it gets somewhat darker.

  • beautiful!

That writing at 0:30 looks like the japanese hiragana ru る

    5 shuriken!

  • Thank you.
