@klee4 No K1 was designed by Chrysler and manufactured in S Korea. How that happened is interesting. A few decades ago S Korea desperately needed to upgrade their aging MBTs against N Korea's better MBTs. However Carter administration wasn't really helping so S Korea went to Germans to get used Leopards. When S Korea was just a few signatures away from acquiring them, US govt stepped in and got Chrysler to design K1.

It was design by Hyundai with consultation from chrysler/general dynamic or it would have been too expensive for the tax payers. This tank is mountain climber unlike M1s.
