I saw this when I was a kid. All the sexual innuendo went right over my head and I was relatively unfazed by the violence.
Then again, I was born in the 90s. ;P

Batman Returns had a Happy Meal toy line when the film was first released. McDonalds later commented that if they had known that the film was so dark and violent, they would not have signed on for the toy line.
