Here's some video that my father shot of my studio. We just finished building more storage so that almost everything has a place - rubber stamps, fabric, clay, paper, scrapbooking, embroidery, etc.

  • Thanks! It was a 3 1/2 car garage that I converted to a studio. And if that wasn't big enough, a friend helped me add a 'closet' for storage. The hardest part is not 'junking' it up. Sometimes it seems I spend more time organized than creating! But I'm not complaining....

  • Can I come play at your house? lol. Love the studio!

  • Sure - I've been in bed for the past week sick w/ a cold so at least somebody could take advantage of it!

  • Thanks, Phleurdillee1, for the comments! My studio is a bit of a mess right now so you've inspired me to organize some before starting my next project... I wish I had your son for his expertise; that knowledge is a real plus... Mouser, my kitty, is right by my side as I type & appreciates the compliment!

  • Please, please hire an electrican. it is so dangerous haveing cords hanging from the ceiling. You can easily have an electrical fire and since it is the basement, you will be trapped.

  • I consulted several electricians & contractors before we did anything. My electrician built a system w/ extra wall & ceiling outlets to handle akiln, new AC/heat, machines, etc. Since we were converting the garage into a studio there were many issues to address. The only problems I've had have been related to plumbing & construction done by friends rather than professionals! I saw the ceiling drops in other studios & thought it was a great idea but I could see how it could be a problem.

  • Such a beautiful sewing room. It is pretty aside from being practical. You seem so organized. I like that you have incorporated all sorts of furniture to serve as storage. You have nice biiiig room! Thanks for sharing!

  • My sewing room is in my bedroom. And even now I'm running out of room.

  • Can I move in. Lol. Beautiful space. I have a corner of my living room. :(.

  • Wow, this is just the kind of studio I would love to have someday. It does look very practical and COMFORTABLE, and I think it's pretty in its own way. *s* I DREAM about having a space like this. Wonderful! So happy for you.

  • Now THAT is a neat sewing room.

    Is it in a basement?

  • W-O-W huge room, i love it, you have so many things... This room is probably worth more than everything that I own!

  • Stunning room - you wouldnt see me for days if I had a sewing room like yours. Pure bliss!

  • very awesome studio, you guys did a great job. you know how most men go bonkers over a nice hotrod? their eyes glaze over and they are dead conversationally for about an hour after they touch one? thats how i am with sewing rooms/studios and yours is very very nice. way to go.

  • By far, this is one of the best home studios I have seen yet! I love the color and all of the work stations. I especially admire your fabric collection!

  • wow I'm guessing this is an entire basement or apartment. Nice!!!
