Much has been written about the "Beatles more popular than Jesus" controversy, so I'll let the documentary speak for itself.

This much is true: This episode in the Beatles' career could have destroyed the band, but it didn't. They got through it, and they remain the most popular and influential Rock & Roll group of all time. Beatles 4-ever!

It amazes me how all these southern baptists that were so appaled by Johns' Jesus statement are the same people that would segragate blacks.These religious nut jobs think that because they go to church on Sunday that they are better than Lennon. As long as they don't take the lords name in vain I guess treating people of a different skin color like animals is a very christian thing to do. Lennon was more "christian" like than any of these hypocrites

I literally hate it when they say that John's in hell, he is always the example when someone mention his name in music wise, but some religious nut claim that he's in hell for saying "they're bigger than jesus". But they can't just do the Christian thing by forgiving him.

The same thing happened to all of us back in the 1950's,as entertainers of Rock"n"Roll we were all put into a category of vile or vulgar music,and churches all over denounced this music as the music of the devil,it really was quite sad that it happened with the Beatles,once the media gets involved they twist everything around,and it seems to continue over the years.Sincerely,The Original Chevelles.

The guy is a freaking moron. He basically compared Jesus to the queen of England. it's basically as relevant as John's statement. And as crazy as it was... he was kinda right. So many religions have sprung up since the Beatles that it's almost scary... not that I'm blaming them or anything, but, Christianity is slowly but surely being wiped out off the face of the planet. #justsayin

@LODGE4444 the Beatles are bigger than Christ what means? they can't to save themselves, only Christ can to save McCartney and co; but Lennon don't want Christ ("i don't believe in Christ he sung on his song God") so lennon probably can to be biggest than Jesus or anybody in this poor world, but he can to be damned in eternity!....and then believe in me: Jesus IS God (with His Father and Holy Spirit at the same)!!!
