Castlevania: SotN (XBLA) any% no OoB speed run in 29:16

This run aims to beat Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as fast as possible without going out of bounds. There is a glitch abused that skips Richter to reach the inverted castle early, but I stay in-bounds when doing that. This run was done on an XBox 360 console without the use of turbo or any cheat devices. what do you think is the easier part of Speed Running Sotn? the first castle or the Second castle?

@heroteen16 The 2nd castle is way easier than the 1st castle simply because the 1st one has way more shield dashing (which can be physically painful when done this fast), more spots where you can get bad luck, and almost all of the big tricks in the run. The 2nd castle just has one little spot where you can get super bad luck, and I happened to get that luck in this run. :p

Great time! One thing I noticed is that you didn't mist--> bat at the end of the hallway at 27:13. Did you just forget it at the time?

@Timewasta I didn't forget, I think my controller was revolting against me because I SWEAR I pushed the mist button there and it was just like "no".

@AkumajoRockman it's the quarter circle forward attack special for the wolf after you have all the wolf relics and then just a well timed jump at the right spot on the staircase while holding forward. This allows for the perfect speed and trajectory to barely skip over the trigger for the Richter battle while staying in-bounds. Because you skip the trigger, the game acts the same as it does when the Richter battle has been finished, so the cutscene plays when you get there.

Impressive !! Maybe the black wireless controller isn't as bad once you get some muscle memory going on the fingers. I use it myself because I can't really find anything as sturdy.

@XameriwannicaX 1. I have a video on my YouTube demonstrating how I shield dash. I'm thinking of making another updated tutorial that's more concise, but it's there if you want to see it. You can also watch the AGDQ SotN race where I am mashing like that live in front of many people, I upped that too. 2. This is on XBLA, you can see the XBLA border and the leaderboard, and this has way less lag than the game would have on a PSX emulator. I'm too lazy to do any video editing to my runs anyway.
