The cliffhangers where the Doctor is the one threatening the villains instead of the other way round are always the best!

I've been saying for a while now that, even though each Doctor has had a different personality, he has always had an underlying streak of kindness, nobility, bravery, sadness, mercy, anger, weariness, and, of course, genius. That's what reminds us that he's always the Doctor, no matter what he looks or acts like. But he can never let himself just BE those things, because if he does he'll just collapse under the weight of it all. So he just hides it.

This freaked the hell out of me first time I saw Peri like that.

The biggest problem with Peri's death was (SPOILER!) that the writers un-killed her at the end of the serial. Makes all the drama of this scene meaningless - Six's reaction, everything. It was all fake, like Bobby's death in 'Dallas'. It would have been better dramatically if they'd left her dead.
