Because he wasn't popular in Japan, the Japanese consider his work a copy from western classical music. Which he just add drums etc to make it like what we are hearing now.
In fact the handful of fans he has was from his MM days.

Yo vi los dos dias, weno partes el primero no pude ver a Moi Dix Mois i era lo ke mas añoraba hacer, descanse un momento i cuando me desperte ia habia pasado u,u, pero lo ke pude ver los dos dias fue genial, hermoso, ese dia agradeci haberme desvelado , gracias por pasar, hasta pronto
