This made me smile! :) Merry christmas and remember Jesus is the reason for the season!

Christmas is a catholicized bastardization of the winter solstice festivals originating long before christians existed. It has its roots in occult mysticism surrounding the wheel of the year and also the use of several hallucinogenic substances, namely amanita mushrooms and nutmeg.

the clapping toward the end reminds me of my church. i love how even though they don't sound that great they look genuinely happy and that is hard to find nowadays with the rising teen stars. the diversity in this group is fabulous..GET THAT RAINBOW :)

December 25th isn't specifically anyone's "birthday" of historic legend and myth. The day was picked by the church to undermine a Pagan holiday celebrating the Goddess of Nature on the same day. As to when this person was born there's a great deal of conjecture. If shepherds are feeding their herd it couldn't have been December because, with Middle-Eastern winters there would be nothing to graze on in that region. "Reason for the season"? Um... no, but if makes you feel warm and fuzzy go for it

I'm totally aware that Jesus wasn't actually born on December 25th, in my opinion he should be celebrated every day.

Then what would be the point of "Reason for the season"? The reason for the season is that the earth changes it's pattern around the sun. There is no mystic force involved. People just can't handle that this, this world and solar system, happened by chance (and thankfully so). Anything that people can't comprehend they attribute to "god". It's the easy way out and makes them feel warm and snugley. You keep believing in that invisible man in the sky and his kid that will save you from whatever.

It's like Lincoln's birthday or Washington's birthday...the federal holiday is usually not observed on their actual date of birth. It's like that with Christmas, most of us know Jesus was actually born in the Spring, but we observe it on December 25th. But like I said, I celebrate Jesus every day.
