The only other other person I have heard sing this song was by an American comedian named Red Skelton. At one point in his career, he had a comedy variety show on TV through out the 60's. I remember him singing this song then. In his presentation though, the mood of the song was sadder and very regretful for his actions. You did a very splendid job of it. Thank you for posting. I really wish that I could play my guitar as well as you do. Kudos.

Very nice rendition, David. This was a favourite of mine as a child exploring my parents' collection of Burl Ives 78s.
