These new UCAV's are going to be the future. They can fly high risk missions with zero loss of life. Pull high G maneuvers that would kill human pilots. Remove a 180 pound pilot and add it as fuel or ordinance.

@neverfearchrisishere fuck'em both, the F-22 was just to warm us up to a new idea for a true stealth fighter... the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter
-
@neverfearchrisishere i would rather have drones than be some shit contry that cant protect there selfs
-
@kirbyroxy like I said highly debatable.
What is less debatable is that maneuvarability is something of a moot point in modern air-air combat, the days of close range dogfights are long gone. Currently in action missiles are not the best the worlds military's can produce, but are still all to deadly at very long ranges. The future sadly lies in rather bland stealthy drones that are little more than a weapons platform with wings. Cheap, and noone minds if 2moros missiles can kill them easily.

@neverfearchrisishere i have seen the f22 and f16 bolth fly in an air show and i say f22 also at the pairas air show (the bigies the f22 always wins) and they have things called stabalisers theys days

@kirbyroxy firstly that's highly debatable. F16 simply doesn't compare, its a previous generation and low budget aircraft - whilst the F22 was designed with Stealth being the primary consideration, design is a comprimise, to be more stealthy you will move away from an optimally maneuvarable design.
secondly this has no bearing on my original point of planes being designed to be aerodynamically unstable.
-
@neverfearchrisishere the f22 and f16 are more maneuvarable than the euro fighter
-
@cr9527 could, every project starts somewhere. what the germans had could have led up to what we have today. you have no imagination man
US copied from Germans?
You are telling me Germany had an unmanned, Carrier capable Stealth Drone...
If not, then it is not a copy.

All modern planes are designed to be aerodynamically unstable, they are able to fly through computers correcting the plane constantly to force it to do as the pilot wishes. This may seen like a farce, but allows planes to be awkward shapes (like stealth planes) or ultra maneuvarable (like the euro fighter)
