  • i would wait for ncstae to come on tv in the 70s to see him play ,

  • @a6foot6 freshmen could not play varsity but the freshman team went 15-1 his freshman year. Trust me I met him last night

  • DT did jump center some I believe....my memory is foggy.

  • That background commentary was Jim Thacker, he and Billy Packer did all the ACC games at that time. They were the best broadcast team in college basketball ever. Nick Pond was the lead sports reporter at WRAL-TV.

    Tommy B. jumped center...not DT.

  • skywalker was 6'4" and burleson was 7'4". You know who took the tip-off for the team? Thompson

  • When David T falls on his head at 8:46.....i saw Jerome Kersey fall just like that at the Forum vs The Lakers and just like David T Jerome was just fine. It helps to be a world class athlete.

  • the voice of the commentary is Wally Ausley (the voice of the wolfpack )

  • who was the commentary reporter ,was his name nick pond. i loved his reporting

  • This is a great video! I feel like it is so hard today to find footage of older players. If anyone knows of any other similar videos of other ACC basketball greats I would love to see them! Also, David Thompson is in my opinion the greatest of all time, and IS the greatest player to come out of the ACC. I must admitt, I am also a Len Bias fan... it's awesome to see people that share my opinion. I would love to see more videos like this one.

  • Len Bias was a great player but u have to remember those teams he played on were medeocre at best. I think they were at the bottom of the ACC. They barely won half their games. The NCAA only allowed 32 teams in the tournament when that 72 team played. The 1st team Thompson played on was undefeated and didn't go to the tourney. They were on probation. They could've easily won 2 national championships. Len Bias was great but he was no David Thompson.
