I had the honor of meeting John at the Paradise in Boston when he was with Zero, I got to sit backstage with him for awhile, we talked about this Gibson he's playing, he designed the pick-guards & inlaid buffalo nickles in the volume knobs, we also discussed his fingerpicking technique, he had flamenco and classical training. He was suffering from enphesema and had a tank of oxygen with him backstage,....goes to show how dedicated of a musician he was, didnt want to let his fans down

Had a 'Copperhead' vinyl,once....Saw Cipollina play live w. Nick Gravenites & Big Bro'[after Janis],but friggin' amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

@slimturnpike John always seemed to be fighting tuning, you can see him touch up his tuning a couple of times in this video. But he always seemed to stick with his Gibson SG with Bigsby.
