  • Charcoal *can* get that hot, but it burns very fast. I burn coal. It burns hotter and longer than charcoal.

  • Why not keep your molds closer to your heat... say place a couple bricks next to your heat? The molds themselves will be hot and you have less distance to go. Perhaps it is it too hot for you near your furnace?
