  • @misterherrdon Yes it is on DVD, try amazon

  • But this is the sound that Bach wrote this music for, both in the instruments and the voice. Using a woman is to substitute another instrument for that intended by the composer. The greatness of Bach is his indestructibility, so sing away with this wonderful music and enjoy it in all its glorious genius!

  • I like this aria performed by Ruth Holton with Gardiner, but that child sings wonderfully. I like this version to. Harnoncourt is very clever.

  • XD what a Voice Nice Nice ;)

  • @misterherrdon

ik ben het hier helemaal eens, geen dames voor deze partijen en al helemaal geen countertenoren met vrouwenstemmen.

Countertenoren met een jongensstem oet je zoeken als een speld in een hooiberg, er zijn er maar heel weinig van.

  • @angelofsundown I'm just disgusted with people like you who think they know better than anyone who should be granted the right to sing and who shouldn't. YOU are middle-age minded, not Harnoncourt, not the people who can accept and enjoy the music with boys or female voices. You don't deserve Bach's music at all !

  • @angelofsundown I have NEVER EVER heard so much crap about music. YOU, YOU think you CAN understand Bach's work better than this boy ? How dare you come and say you're clever than him ? Just listen to the Cantatas by Harnoncourt and Leonhardt, listen to Peter Jelosits or Panatea Iconomou ! When 99% of all sopranos arias are nowadays sung by females you come and say that the fact to use boys is prejudice ? Wake up bro ! Wash your ears and stop comparing music with politics !

  • @BlueStef17 I wonder how dare you to compare me with a racist, when I am the opposite.Using a boy with a female voice instead of a woman is a fruit of a very long pregiudice against women, who had not right to sing in a church. That was racism (sexism). We live today in a freer world, and using still a boy instead of a woman is "child" of those ideas.Boys have a soul, but this inncocent soul has nothing to do with "Johannes Passion".only a mature human spirit can understand Bachs Work.

  • @angelofsundown Decades ago (centuries) white people used to think that black ones had no soul. Are you telling us that you think the same for boys ? How couldn't they express something spiritual ? You narrow-minded moron...

  • @angelofsundown and especially a woman....

  • I wonder how could a great musician as Harnoncourt make sing this aria to a child. Didnt he recognised in the music and the words something "sensual"-"spiritual" only a mature singer can express?

  • Jesus himself must have dictated notes to JSB

  • wow, a boy with this age *_* incredible
