Proton Emas Hybrid Concept designed by Italdesign Giugiaro

At the eightieth edition of the Geneva International Motor show (4-14 March 2010), Italdesign Giugiaro is introducing Emas, a family of low environmental impact cars that is set to revolutionise traditional segmentation in the car market. The design, created with the Malaysian manufacturer PROTON is based on a plug-in hybrid drive system designed with Lotus Engineering and was developed with the aim of optimising the available on-board space and car access ergonomics.

Even BMW and Mercedes - Benz takes a hundred years to create such concept..... But Proton only takes 25 years to do it.... which is better you guys think???

Frankly speaking what makes you think that local made Proton can sell a Persona at RM60k locally (with government tax relieve, assistants, etc) while Hyundai manage to ship their Sonata to US and sell at more or less the same price? We all have been the victim of widespread corrupt practice of our auto industry having subsidising certain group of government cronies with inferior quality local car and AP for imported cars.

@spchew79 Yep I totally agree with you. Just Imagine a Honda Civic exported all the way to UK selling OTR price equivalent to Malaysia RM80k base on 5.0 exchange rate. Malaysia Selling for 130k!!! that's 50k more than UK!!! Japanese cars are not expensive yet high quality. The problem? Our government's greed in corruption has stop our nation to progress further, stop Proton as a national car maker progress any further. Shame.

As far as I know Proton dont own the design. This concept car now being stuck at giugaro since 90% of their share been bought by volkswagen. Proton just have the concept. Maybe they'll try to built something from there. Yeah... If they're capable enough to do that.
