  • I never get tired of hearing the 'ghost whistle'. It's creppy, but, at the same time, very entertaining. I wish I could get a ride on #90 and hear the 'ghost whistle' first-hand.

  • @ksharkey1000, I've been on the Strasburg Railroad many, many times, and I still get a kick out of it when the conductor says, "If you think that's just an echo, it's not. We actually pay the ghost train 29.95 for every time it whistles."

  • @TheMrtinners There's supoose ot be some old mining track on the other side of a nearby hill. Put out of service years ago. However to this day when the train stops and blows it's whistle it gets an identical reply. Actual it's just your trains sound waves bouncing off the hill back at you.

  • Wow, I swear I saw this locomotive in a kids movie when I was little. I think it was called All Aboard Trains, or something like that. Good too see it's still functional.

  • whats the story behind this "ghost" whistle

  • I have to drive to Pennsylvannia in a few weeks to make a pickup I definatlly must try to make this railroad I have to go to Scranton so I am definatlly going to try to stop at Steamtown

  • But why do they stop a blow the whistle?

  • Thats creepy

  • @joneau261 did u look at all of kirbys >:0 why do u critcise

  • @IraDeathViper As a matter of fact, no. The original comment was in response to kirbyfan600's asking if they ever have Thomas do the Ghost Whistle, which I said they do not as they only run Thomas as far as Esbenshade. There is nothing in there that has to do with Conrail or Strasburg's interchange whatsoever. Please consider reading the original comment before you go off on what you think you have the answer to

  • @joneau261 well i was trying to make a point for u commenting on kirbyfan :D do u get what i be saying!

  • @IraDeathViper I already knew that Conrail's old-PRR route connected with the Strasburg Railroad, although the line is today used by Amtrak and Norfolk Southern. That still doesn't answer what Conrail has to do with the original comment
