@blessedwithoutmeasur I know what the Word says. The sign gift had a purpose, that purpose was fulfilled and they ceased. When the apostolic age ended and the canon was closed, the sign gifts had no purpose and ceased. 1 Corinthians 13:8-10, 2 Peter 1:19. The Bible is the Word of God, and He only speaks through His Word today, fot this is a more sure word of prophecy.

@blessedwithoutmeasur The true gift of languages was from God, but not what the corinthians were using. As far as being a prayer language, this is not so. Speaking in tongues was never a prayer language, but as a sign of confirmation for the unbelieving Jews, who asked for signs. When the apostolic age ended and the NT was complete tongues ceased just as Paul said they would. After the apostolic age only heretical groups claimed a continuance of the sign gifts.
