1991 Honda cr500 engine in a 2001 suzuki RM 125 frame.

Boondocker nitrous in the airbox, activates when throttle goes above 3/4 throttle.

Boyesen reeds.

its got a mod on it to hold a 3rd rad!! 2 isint enough to cool it in the summer time.

it goes about the same as a brand new stock 09 yf450f.

my 05 crf 450r with exhaust, ported and polished, jetting, stage 2 cam, AP mod beats it by quite a bit.

  • thats like putting a chevy 454 in a golf cart

  • @bburns154 not quite... not at all actually, the frame is still pretty much the same size, the gearing is the same, rear tire is the same size, the only thing that was different is the engine head touched the steel frame making the vibration twie as bad and the angle of the forks very weird. the engine is way better off in a cr500 frame, which is where it is now... but if it was in a cr80 frame then it would be a different story ;)

  • how the hell do u hook up nitrous to a dirtbike never seen that done make a video please

  • im not 100% sure, it wasnt us that hooked up but ill try to explain it.

bottle + vent hose sits in the airbox, it injects the nitrous into the airfilter via a solenoid that is hooked up to the throttle, when the throttle is at 3/4 it makes 2 things of metal connect (you need to set this up.. not easy), which are connect to a RC car battery in the bar pad. there is also a switch that needs to be turned on. when the 2 things of metal connect, it opens the nitrous bottle and sprays into the airbox

  • its not simple, nor is it worth it. you need to retard the timing, adjust/open with your piston ring gap, etc.. and this one we found this out the hard way: you need to start the bike and use nitrous instantly, you cant let the engine/piston warm up.. the ice cold nitrous mist/fumes hitting that red hot piston will shatter your piston like it did to ours, needless to say the cr500 is now bored over 2mm and puts out 22cc more than stock making it a cr513.. VERY powerful! (stock is 491cc not 500)

  • any videos on how you moded the bike??

  • no I dont. IT wasnt me that did the mod, we bought it like this.

but for anyone reading; I wouldnt recommend doing this. there is NO pros to doing it, just a bunch of cons. the engine is now back in a cr500 frame and its way more efficient and easier to ride like that.

  • Can you tell me what tire profile you used? For eg: 100/100 18.

  • Hill climbing dirk bikes are the only ones that use Nitro on a consitant basis....Well Dirt bike wise, Obviously drag bikes and others use it also, but for dirt bike racers it's mainly the hill climbers
