Rodsky & Dutch TSN Sportsdesk promo by Andy Bianchi

I created and shot this promo a while ago to promote Darren Dutchyshen & Rod Smith on TSN's Sportsdesk (now called "Sportscentre). Playing on their names we decided to bend our on-air talent into a Starsky and Hutch style team.
I approached Rod & Darren and troopers as always, they went with the idea and we had a blast shooting it. I tried to capture that seventies TV style, as seen in the fat font with huge drop shadows and of course the box flying at Rod's head in the stairway scene. In one of Darren's attempts to slide across the hood of the car he banged his knee into the quarter panel of the Torino. Darren's knee survived, but the dent cost us another $1500 bucks paid to the car owner for repairs.

This video is INCREDIBLE. I was a huge sportsdesk fan in the mid/late 90s before going to grade school every morning. I did my speech in grade 5 on sportsdesk! This was one of the best commercials, and if you have anything else from that era I would love too see it. Any vintage landsberg or jim van horn?

Also this is the first (and likely only) time I will ever comment on a youtube video
