Thank you - you gave me the one key piece of information I needed. I couldn't figure out how to connect the ribbon to the hard drive. I watched several videos and yours was the first one to give me that key information.

It could fix your issue, but this is probably a hard drive issue. From our experience we can resolve this issue by repairing your hard drive for $49.95. This option is cheaper than replacing the drive.

Your best bet will be to get the iPod into diagnostic mode and check to see it passes the HDD Scan and the HD R/W test. If it passes then you don't have hard drive problems. Next you should probably disconnect your battery and then reboot. If that fixes the issue it will only be temporary until you replace the logic board.

It is a safe bet to use the ESD safe environment. If you don't have it make sure to touch some metal before you start working on your iPod.

Your best bet may be to send it in to us to see if we can repair the board. If not we can probably offer you some cash for the parts.
