Cody is a genius, fer sher (well, he has sick skills, anyway) ...
... But, my tape is on a credit card, in a pocket-kit, and will also be on my "fishing tube kit" but I want to be able to dip my bottle (lay it down) in puddles, and also to be able to submerge it under surface scum, on the edges of ponds and rivers ... so ... Even tho duct-tape may be able to survive moisture fairly well ... I will not emulate Cody's genius, in this case and, I also agree that the tape can get in the way.

@gavkoo Yep, I just slide the cup onto the bottom. I generally use a stainless steel guyot bottle, which I actually had in my pack. I like the ability to boil in it as well but the plastic bottle I can keep things such as tape on.
