A quick video edit I did of the full pre-gameplay opening sequence for Shadow of Memories (Shadow of Destiny in the US). It is a fantastic adventure game with focus on time travel and it contains multiple endings based on your actions. Highly recommend that anyone with interest in adventure games track down either the original release (available for PS2, PC and Xbox) or evt. import the Japanese PlayStation Portable release (It has English audio and English text can be toggled in the options menu).
Shadow of Memories was only just recently released on the PSP in Japan, and a US release has supposedly been announced. Support a good cause, buy Konami's Time Hollow for the NDS while waiting for the US release of Shadow of Memories. I do not know if the US release will once more carry the title of "Shadow of Destiny", as the PS2 release once did. Only time will tell.
This video, when viewed side-by-side with the PlayStation 2 footage, may show you some of the differences between the two versions. The footage was recorded via S-video on an LG RC185 DVD recorder, at 720x576, then cropped and resized (640x480 for PS2 and 480x272 for PSP). The PlayStation Portable footage was recorded via the use of an old PSP 1000 and a PSP2TV kit, playing the Japanese version of Shadow of Memories for PSP. The PlayStation 2 footage was captured from the PAL release of Shadow of Memories. Unfortunately, the image quality of the PSP2TV kit is not top notch. There is something terribly wrong with how it draws the picture, as it kills a few vertical lines for seemingly no good reason. In the future, I might re-record this using Component Outputs, should I set up a system capable of recording from component and acquire a new PSP with a proper 1st party TV Out solution.
The video does not show ALL differences between the two versions. There are apparently many other changes found scattered around the game, by even proceeding to the gameplay after the spot where I have cut this footage, you will see that the PSP version, although using a 24h clock in its title cards, uses AM/PM for the in-game HUD clock, while the PlayStation 2 version uses a 24h clock. The PSP footage is also edited so that it does not display all the tutorial messages. The SKIP option is present in the PSP footage because I have save data on my MemoryStick beyond the point of the intro, thus allowing for scene skipping.

Hey comparing this version to PS2 version is Homunculus's voice actor different. I mean I know Eike is clearly different I like this guy better but Homunculus as well sounds different maybe it's just the echo effect but it'd say who voiced him right.
