I have seen Santouri (with translation) and I must say, I find persian cinema way much better than Bollywood. Persian language needs to return to Pakistan as it was before the British came here. I'm sure the Persian speaking and heritage countries can join the cinemas together and compete at the highest level
This film is great, its director has done a superb job and both main male and female characters specially Bahram Radan are incredibly talented. Bravo! Iranian cinema at its best.
Indeed, any addiction which can't be totally cured, like addiction to religions and god, needs to be isolated in an insane asylum. Ali here is a symbol of all addicts, to physical drugs or the drugs produced by religious ceremonies, like his mother is addicted to in one of the powerful scenes where women sit around and pump up their brain's dopamine through religious recitations.
Id doesn't have to be Islamic, any religions, even zen, produces dopamine through its mantras. Mehrjui is clever.
