I'm a Dion fan,but he stretches the truth to make himself look important.He always implies in interviews that he wrote "The Wanderer"and "Abraham,Martin,and John",but he didn't.He's a big name dropper.He has alot of talent and doesn't need to play that game.Take a guy like Glen Campbell.He is always praising and thanking Jimmy Webb for writting most of his hits.I think Dion is a bit insecure.

I had a brother that remembered things the way they didn't happen. He never meant to be untruthful, but he had a vivid recollection of many things that he imagined. Dion has a great story and so does Allsup. Some of you hotheads just need to calm down and get a life. Being right on this one won't put a dollar in anyone's pocket.

Dion does get a little fuzzy. When he told the story in the 80s, he wasn't part of the coin toss, the $36.00 was the rent his family had to scrape together every month, and wven though he spent more than that on occasion for other things, when it hit the EXACT amount of that rent he just couldn't do it. It sounded like he tried to convince himself this was stupid, but he just couldn't make himself do it. When he found out about the crash he was traumatized, wondering why he was spared.
