1944. The Rocket Launcher T34 (Calliope) was a tank-mounted multiple rocket launcher used by the United States Army during World War II. The launcher was placed atop the Medium Tank M4, and fired a barrage of 4.5 in (114 mm) rockets from 60 launch tubes. It was developed in 1943; small numbers were produced and were used by various US armor units in 1944-45. It adopts its name from the musical instrument "Calliope", also known as the steam organ, which had similar lined pipes.

  • T 34?

  • @walkerredeye T34 was simply the model number for this version of the Sherman tank - not to be confused with the famous Soviet tank of the same name.

  • Man I just love how inventive they were in World War II :) A lot of the awesome concepts and things from back in those days seem much more inventive than what we get today. Though of course back then we weren't really worried about efficiency as long as we got the job done :D

  • it looks even better than the Sherman Calliope from Company of Heroes

  • @9dissection9 it should have been mass produced :)
