Storm passing over Washington DC - July 18, 2010, around 11:30 pm.

My camera was apparently not able to pick up the thunder, so this is basically a video with no soundtrack.

it's also really long for having relatively little happen. The entire reason for that is because I find the flashing red lights kind of hypnotic and pleasant to just zone out to.

There are intermittent flashes of lightning throughout the video, but here is when the particularly interesting stuff happens:

1:37 -- Difficult to see, but there is a flash of GREEN lightning, followed by orange-pink, at the treeline near the radio tower lights.

2:33 -- More green lightning, to the right of the lights.

3:34 -- Lightning streak on the far right of the frame.

4:19 -- The best shot of the green lightning I kept seeing before I recorded this video. Sadly, the real quality of the color is not apparent in the video. It was genuinely easter-egg-dye teal green, very deep and rich, not just sort of tinted mostly-white light. It was pretty amazing.
