It's Eastern Hercegovinian dialect of Serbian language or Bosnian(Bosniak) language, or Croatian. (It depends on the religion of the speaker, muslim=bosniak, catholic=croatian, orthodox=serbian)

No, the Russian was speaking Russian, and the narrator Portuguese.
Ford played in this ad with the similiarties between Portuguese and Russian.

For an untrained ear, the salesman sounds Russian, while the narrator would sound like he's speaking Polish or an obscure Slavic language.
An untrained ear finds this ad harsh-sounding and, unfortunately, hears it like dobrsh dbrich bzh pshek mientnik.
Was the Russian actually speaking Portuguese?
