  • She hasn't answered my question, but I just want to point out that she has a bit of an accent so it's obvious she wasn't born in France. I'd really like to know where tho. Kinda hard to tell. Vietnam maybe? in any case, good job on representing women in this dude-filled fighting game scene.

  • @ushiwakamaru30

Sorry i didnt see your message.

I was born in France. But it's true i have sometimes an accent while talking french, but a bit only. Some friends already noticed that by hearing me a lot. But some dont notice because my accent can be noticed for only a few words, not all.

    I'm vietnamese and laotian.

  • I just put subtitles now so you can understand.

  • wow you can speak french kayane? omg english please! atleast subtitles xd

  • @juliankuy

Lol i'm french...so yeah i can speak it xD

I dont know how to put subtitles :(

  • Oh my god... look at those cute lips!! :3

But fanboying aside, she's a very good player that I want to fight against one of these days, when I further develop my gaiming skills. I still have much to learn. Props to the strongest women in the world.

  • @SolarPhoenix7 Why would you say that?

I'm still young, only 14 year old, I have room for improvements...

  • @nihonzukisam i guess it is possible that, given the environment where I grew up, I sometimes assume that people pick up accents from their parents if they happen to be immigrants. OR maybe we have a different understanding of what accent and intonation (as you called it) mean :)

In her case, it's not thick by any stretch. If anything, it's subtle but I picked it up right away. It's very...sexy. LOL

  • @ushiwakamaru30 salut :)

About the slight accent you mention, I agree we sometimes can find something like that on people from parents with foreign mother tongue. But I would not even call that an accent, not to confuse guys who are not "francophones". And to me, it was obvious she was born (or at least grown up) in France, given her french was with no really noticeable accent.

  • @nihonzukisam actually, there are many people here in Canada who were born here but have a slight accent they most likely picked up from their parents/family. For example, a friend of mine was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. Although his English is flawless, I could detect a slight accent. When I first met him, I asked him about it and he said it's because his parents are Libyan and he speaks Arabic quite frequently which would explain that. That might be the case for Kayane as well.

  • @ushiwakamaru30 I'm french but couldn't even notice her accent on the first play. Playing the video once again I just noticed some very slight accent on very few words but it's quite impossible to say she would not be born in France because of that. It's more a particular intonation, something that could exist in many persons in France, not really an accent.

  • magnifique

  • Kayane, good job. I just got to know you today while I was looking for Chun-Li tips, and I'm pretty impressed. Do you still main Chun-Li? I love Chun-Li and always looking for ways to improve. You must have a page on Wikipedia just like Daigo :)

Is your name Kayane or that's a nickname :p
