As Chancellor of De Montfort University since 2006, Lord Waheed Alli passionately believes in the opportunities that education brings. His drive and motivation is matched by his creativity and success in the world of business.

He is currently Chairman of leading global media company Chorion Ltd, that owns such brands as Mr Men and Little Miss, and Noddy; and Chairman of ASOS plc, a global online retailer, and Olga Productions, a TV production company.

As a former MD at both Carlton TV and Planet24, Waheed was appointed a working Labour peer in July 1998 and is particularly active in issues concerning equality.
