Victorian Police Brutality - Boycott Israel 19 Arrested! (BDS, Melbourne, July 1) part 1

The BDS is a global movement aiming to financially disrupt Israel, with the demand that it terminate both its apartheid regime in the West Bank and its starvation-blockade of Gaza. Melbourne's contribution to BDS has been involving pro-Palestinin activists protesting outside of the Max Brenner store in the CBD. Max-B is an Israeli-owned company, and has never been shy in broadcasting its support for Israeli terrorism against the Palestinians.
Premier of Victoria Ted Ballieu has made it actuely clear which side of the Israel-Palestine conflict he stands on. These videos present a clear display of police brutality, whereby the Max-B protest was broken down, where 19 activists are arrested, grabbed at and manhandled by the vicious police.

@ChaseTheDub In order to understand the Middle East, we need to view it in terms of US imperialism: controlling the entire region, controlling the oil supply, dominating world industry of energy resources. Country by country, most Middle Eastern nations are brutal and violent human rights abusers, and most are US allies. And since Israel is an ally to the US, all of those dictatorships are allies to Israel too. Just think of Saudi Arabia and Mubarak's Egypt and Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

@hardkoregamer999 If that is true, then your "Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East" argument is void. In reality, military occupations are brutal, horrid, and must be stopped through resistance. If the oppressor nation is a dictatorship, a theocracy, or a liberal democracy, then that occupation is still just as brutal. And thus the occupier's internal political system is not evidence to be used against resisting the occupation. All that morally matters is the occupation's brutality.

@ChaseTheDub In Palestine, Jews and Palestinians WERE living in peace for a full 50 years, and had heathy economic and social relationships. Problems arose when the British-funded Zionists began interfering with Mandate Palestine domestic politics, including the eventual creation of an army that committed the Nakba.

That's the difference between Jews and Zionists: Jews wanted to live happily in Palestine as free citizens, Zionists wanted to slaughter Arabs and found a racist terror state.

Okay then, by that logic, I assume that you supported Apartheid South Africa, you supported the British occupation of Ireland, you supported the Indonesian annexation of East Timor in 1999, and you support the Indian occupation of Kashmir.

Israel commits countless crimes against the Palestinians, and its status as a democratic state doesn't cancel out or reduce the suffering it inflicts.
