Is Apple really overcharging for their products?

I would say NO! In terms of Professional jobs/work, you will need a machine that is going to withstand high computing from applications such as video editing, graphic design. I break down this argument of "Macs are just too expensive" by giving insight into why they are not 500 dollars.

  • Your argument is that in the past computers were expensive, so its okay for apple to sell overpriced hardware of an insane markup?

Interesting.... But you see, I could build a PC, add a labor value, and still beat their "competitive prices" lawl

  • @mewimi Apple is a business and they need to make profits on their hardware, but if you look on the PC/Windows end at a computer built to spec, such as the Mac Pro you will see they are around the same price or more. Just check out Dell's workstations, HP etc...

  • Anyone can build cheaper and faster computers than what most companies offer, not just Apple's. Just like how anyone can make their civics go faster than BMWs or even Ferraris.

But he's right. You need computers that are built to accomplish YOUR necessities. If you need a fast computer for gaming, fine, spend all that money on your graphics card and water-cooled cases, but stop complaining on how other people spend their money.

  • @redralph Thanks, well said!!!

  • I'm planning to buy an HP laptop is I get one instead of a Macbook. Cause it's about $300 less than the STARTING Mac's are and it's just as good and has what I want. (Windows 7, Beats Audio, a Blu-Ray player, and an Intel Core hardrive.) Did you also know that HP is the leadin computer comany in the world. Second place is IBM, the Apple in third, then Microsoft in fourth, and Dell in 5th. So the idea the Mac's are the only computers that are a dafe investment out there is total bullshit.

  • @CyberTechWolf I would agree there is cheaper options out there and in my experience is, you get what you pay for. With that said, I do not think Apple is the greatest computer manufacturer out there, they just work for me!

  • Why would you buy a Mac when you can build a pc that's like 2 better in performance for the same price?

  • I can build me a nice pc, hackintosh it and get better performance than a real Mac at a fraction of the price. Pc's are about flexibility and true customization. Try to customize a Mac through the apple store and see what happens...basically now you've got yourself another car payment.

  • @toddrecommends your first argument is true but that does not mean you have to let apple screw you over. everyone needs to make profit but you dont have to let them :) for 799 € i can get a laptop with the same specs as a macbook pro for 1.149 €

  • @toddrecommends

i did, and mac workstations cost like 1k more than the overpriced Dell's with the exact same specs,+ macs come with a crappy OS that is incompatible with 90% of the apps that are out there +limited upgrading options and close to no customization options, and ridicolous os updatest that cost more money.

seriously compare the specs and the prices, its mind blowing how overpriced the macs are, any sane man would feel like they just got scammed after they bought a mac.

  • So far my plastic acer that outperformed 5 times more expensive mac's when I bought it still works perfectly fine.

  • You could build a pc with 3 times better specs and get a good security software and save hundreds of dollars.

  • Yes they are overpriced you could build or get a computer with twice to three times better specs for the same price I almost laughed out loud when I saw on a mac that costed over 2 grand said: ATI 4200 graphics processor! State of the art,and fast! Yeah I found a laptop with a ATI 6700 laptop by hp for less than $500

  • I built a PC that can run DX11 crysis 2 on ultra 1024x768 for £250. add an extra 400 on that and you have a PC that could run anything!

  • high quality? come on man, not to many people seem to agree with you.

  • Great video ••••••

  • Macs are not high quality computers. I had a MacBook Pro for less than 9 months, when it began having intermittent kernel panics and "blue screens". Apple's tech support was, quite frankly, abysmal. They tried to charge me $400 for Apple Care, just to even talk to someone in tech support, even when my computer was still under warranty. I was then charged $75 to have it repaired, and when I got it back, the same things were still happening.. Needless to say, I'm never buying anything Apple again.
