I'm a hard rock/metal listener, but I love seeing the videos of these old country players. When people discuss "greatest guitarists" how these guys are left out of the discussion is mind blowing.

Put a stack of effects on Chet Atkins doing Orange Blossom Special, and people would lose their minds about how awesome a player he is.

@thebeauhooligan Back in 1970, I was hanging out with Doc and his son Merle and we'd gone out for coffee and after about 20 minutes, Doc pulled out a pocket watch-flipped it open...and it was in Braille! He laid his index and middle fingers over the face, and said "We better be getting back in a couple of minutes..." I have never seen anything like this before or SINCE!! Doc is so amazing...

Doc is not completely blind. I went back stage at the Paramount, he was touring with mandolin genius Dave Grisman. There was a buffet laid out on a counter, and Doc surprised me when he said, "What's over there that's good. It looks like there is some really nice cheese", then walked over and piled up a plate. I almost asked him how much he could see, but that would have been insensitive and rude. Doc is a great man, and as kind and generous a Christian gentleman can be. I love Doc Watson. :-)

@engraver41 Spell his name correctly please - it's Setzer. Also, look for a Youtube of Chet Atkins talking about Gretsch guitars and hear what he has to say about Brian Setzer. I trust his opinion a bit more than yours.
