  • with all your respect this is nice looking but doesn't look practical at all. No one is going to wait for me to do all that artistic dancing.

  • @pizzacouch5

The sweep takes about 2 seconds to execute, when you get to the halfguard. You have to show the details while teaching. I use this sweep in sparring almost everyday and it works really well. That is a very basic BJJ- deep halguard sweep that is used in almost every competition I watch. I have seen it used alot in MMA also, including UFC.

  • @pizzacouch5 Artistic dancing? You have no idea what you are talking about. This is one of the most effective sweeps in jiu jitsu if done correctly and at full speed.

  • thanks a bunch for your upload

  • saulo ribeiro has a decent instructional on the deep half, i first started using deep half after watching him show this technique

  • Nice, I always have trouble with deep half because I have only been taught fancy low percentage sweeps, this seems like a good one.

  • @pizzacouch5

Its super practical. I see little bitty guys hit this sweep on big 200+ lb plus guys at full resistance.

  • That guy looks like Andrei Alrovski

  • i just hit this in my first tournament to take the guy's back. Won by RNC.

    Thanks!

  • There is a friend I roll with at my club. He is awesome with the deep-half guard. I outweigh him by 30lbs and he uses this VERY effectively.

He's won competitions with it. It works. Take it from a victim!!!!

  • @terasankka I have had occasion to utilize this in practice and I have to say, it has been of great help to me. I haven't yet had the opportunity to try it in competition, but its served me well in practice.

  • Very nice, but the way it's done -would you get sweep points by sliding out the back and attacking the back? I don't think you would get points for a sweep if the other guy just turtles up. If the guy drops to guard to defend I think you would get the two points but probably not if he turtles.
