Allen Woodward grew up in Long Island, but lost his way during college and found himself with no prospect for a meaningful career. Dreaming of becoming an attorney specializing in representing the less advantaged, Allen went back to school and turned his academic record around, ultimately achieving his dream of attending law school and becoming a lawyer. After three years participation in an award winning trial advocacy program and an internship with the Essex County District Attorney's office, Allen hopes to become a role model for other young African Americans, proving to all that with hard work and determination barriers to success cease to exist.

  • I'm so happy I stumbled across this video.

I wish to peruse a career in law, but, like a lot of other hopefuls, I am intimidated by financial and I guess 'intellectual' issues.

I know I may not be the richest or smartest in the room, but I do know what I want, and I know that I am willing to work for it to get there.

    I hope.

  • @leafclash We wish you much luck leaf clash! Law school doesn't have to be expensive- and as for intellectual ideas- i am sure you are more than smart enough to dive right in! Please let us know if we can help! 978-681-0800

  • Very inspiring

  • @mreyesky thanks mreyesky!

  • I really want to be a lawyer... I'm 15 and the thoughts of future have been coming up often throughout highschool. For some reason though I'm feeling some self-doubt.. can I really do this?

  • @0Sakara0 yes you can!!! hundreds and hundreds of our graduates have had the same self-doubts- who wouldn't? And yet they are practicing law by the hundreds and living their dreams!

  • @MSLawdotedu You are selling for a school. Many graduates of lower tier law schools will never work as lawyers. You know this. Its unethical to tell people otherwise.

  • This is sad. Our nation has tens of thousands more lawyers than it needs, and its been reported that half of all law school graduates do not get jobs after graduation. This problem existed prior to the recession, so its not about the bad economy at all. Having the J.D. behind your name will confer some prestige, but that's about it. Going to a lower-tier law school is a total waste of time and money. Only those graduating from the top 10 schools are remotely employable.

  • Amen to that !

  • Incredibly inspirational... a real fairy-tale like story. I really appreciate this because I see myself in this man's shoes. I'm going for it.

  • New Yak

  • "I felt as if being a lawyer would be more towards what I'd like to do in life..." Soooooo, you didn't get in med school, huh?

  • Whether or not you want to be a lawyer, do not go to this guy's law school in this economic climate. You will not get a job.

  • Best video for anyone to see whether or not you want to become a lawyer.

Its good to know that they interview genuine students.

I really want to become a lawyer but I always had doubts.

This is ultimately the best advice you can get on youtube for current and future law students.

  • Let's stop dreaming. I need a few people to go to Fxstreet.com and set up a practice account. I will send you daily picks on where I see the market headed. You can trade on your smartphone if you choose the Gft or Acm brokers. Let's get busy because I'm on fire right now. I have an account on gmx. It's nadetime7.
