Info:
I'm not a hardcore fan of Soilwork but I think they write some fantastic guitar solo's. Whilst I didn't find this solo hard to play, it's well written, groovy and a lot of fun with interesting mixes of blues, arpeggio and legato style licks.
Techniques/Tips:
- The first arpeggio should be alternate picked, whereas the same riff in the second part of the solo is quite a bit quicker and should be sweep picked.
- For this solo, you want a very ambient, smooth, Petrucci style guitar tone. Avoid a harsh, trebley guitar tone and use the neck pickup.
- The blues style riff half way through the solo involves repeatedly bending with the middle finger on the G string and can be hard to do with heavy gauge strings. Practice slowly and build up speed
- The song is actually played with a 7-string guitar.
Gear:
Guitar: Ibanez RGT42DXFM
- Neck pickup: Stock Ibanez INF1
- Bridge pickup: Seymour Duncan Dimebag Darrell
Strings: Ernie Ball Super Slinky
Tuning: Drop D (DADGBE)
Effects: POD X3
- Lead Tone patch: ENGL Powerball tone (with reverb)

Tabs:
Ultimate guitar had some mediocre tabs that I chose to ignore. Instead I learned off fellow youtuber Ronixis, used his tab and then configured it to my liking.
