Sambayanihan-Filipino Ministry of St Mary (Huntley)

Sing of the Lord's goodness - Ernest Sands
Translated into ASL by David Bar-Tzur

Sing of the Lord's goodness,
Father of all wisdom, come to him and bless his name.
Mercy he has shown us, his love is forever, faithful to the end of days.

Refrain:
Come, then, all nations, sing of your Lord's goodness, melodies of praise and thanks to God. Ring out the Lord's glory, praise him with your music, worship him and bless his name.

Power he has wielded, honor is his garment, risen from the snares of death. His word he has spoken, one bread he has broken, new life he now gives to all.

Courage in our darkness, comfort in our sorrow, Spirit of our God most high; solace for the weary, pardon for the sinner, splendor of the living God.

Praise him with your singing, praise him with the trumpet, praise God with the lute and harp; praise him with the cymbals, praise him with your dancing, praise God till the end of days.

  • I am a Protestant, but due to my work schedule, I worshiped at a Catholic church one Sunday morning. I heard this song, and fell in love with it! My wife plays flute, I play piano, and my 12-year-old son plays drums on this song. It's become one of our signature pieces! GREAT job singing and playing! :-)

  • I love this song and I love Lord of the dance and sing out earth and skies!!

  • @tricesimo its heavily influenced by Take 5 (made famous by the Dave Brubeck Quartet) :) i play drums in church and we did this song last week... its so fun to play because of the time signature switch in each measure.

  • I call this the "Brubeck Hymn" because it's 5/4 time! ;-)

  • I have heard an up beat version with drums as it so lively.

  • Thanks for posting

  • i luvs singing this song!

  • We had this our wedding. I think it's just the best hymn ever. Sadly no-one knew it at our wedding and it sounded rubbish. The organ was great though.

  • I LOVED this song when I was a little kid. I still do in fact. My church is singing this this Sunday (August 9, 2009) but I went to a different church so I didn't get to sing it unfortunately.
