This is an experiment to determine effect of shaft length on an individual's paddling form and technique. The practice paddles that have been used in previous sessions are medium, length, compared to the race paddles used in this experiment.

The experiment is each paddler uses a given shaft length and tries to keep the shaft vertical through the travel phase to exit. Concentrate on keeping bottom arm straight and do whatever is required with the top arm to achieve a vertical shaft during the stroke.

In Exercise01, paddlers on port side, bow to stern, using S=short, M=medium, L-long, XL=xtra long shafts are: Capt'n Bligh M, Kyle L, Julie S. On starboard, stern to bow are: Kerry L, Pam XL, Deborah S.
