"When Marlene Dietrich arrived at a premiere in the 40s and 50s, she would walk under the theatre's marquee, pirouette to show off her gown and new coiffure as if she were the star of the picture, whether she was in the film or not. When new members of the Hollywood press corps working at a premiere didn't know what a "grand entrance" was they would find out when Dietrich was announced." (Photographer Murray Garrett)

  • I tried finding that first song. Who is the artist? What is the title?

  • It's the group "Nouvelle Vague", the song "In a Manner of Speaking."

  • She was a godess and the LAST true DIVA! I adore her! Can you tell me what song is the one playing? It is wonderful!

  • Thank you! The first song is by Nouvelle Vague "In a Manner of Speaking" and the second one is by The Last Shadow Puppets "My Mistakes Were Made For You".

  • Dina, can I just say how much I absolutely ADORE this video? It's 100% my most favourite video on youtube, I mean it. What a wonderful job you've done! Lots of love from Holland! xxx

  • Oh, thank you very much, Iris! I'm flattered! I can see what you mean. Marlene is really such an inspiration. One sees her and thinks: "Wow! If she did that good, maybe I should do that too?" She makes women perfect themselves. She's such a role model, a superwoman. And watching her the other women do not afraid getting older, because there was something unusual and something special in her face or a bone structure that made her always look great. And she worked a lot to be always on the top.

  • She is a MIRACLE. Upon reading "Marlene Dietrich, Life and Legend" by Steven Bach, I have to say, I admire her sarcasm and sense of humor. Thank you so much Dina! This is so wonderful :) :X:X:X:
