@NeoSerafio im actually surprised cos castlevania never shows up as one of the hardest 2d games ever? i have no idea why...i thought they were all equally challenging,addictive and enjoyable,some of my friends say,if you can do those games,you should easily do the others.that kinda bugs me,cos i recon castlevania is pretty hard...old peace bro.

absolutetly true. Out of the 4 classic castlevanias i have played (1, 3, 4 and rondo), the hardest one was castlevania 3 by far

Original Castlevania was hard, because it was so primitive. The controls were totally rigid and the game had to be played in an almost mathematically perfect way. But, if you figured it out it became really easy and you coul ace every 2d castlevania game after that with no problems.
The controls and feeling of the game changed with SOTN and it became much less rigid and more free for improvisation, "easier" and appealing to more people.
