Warwick 'locking strap nuts' ('security lock') about as useful as a chocolate fireguard!.. and now my beloved Gibson les paul has a massive dent in it! (using warwick strap buttons as supplied, in case anyone is in doubt!)

Hopefully this will help you avoid the same fate to your guitar! I've uploaded a vid of the dent, its a bit out of focus but you can just about see it. A proper chunk. I've actually always used schaller on my other guitars but stupidly assumed any make claiming 'locking strap nuts' would do the job.

  • I'm using Schaller Security Locks ever since my guitar kissed the floor (I had these Warwick Locks installed). Warwick does a great job in building basses and bass amps, but they should stop producing these locks.

  • @behemoth666123 i couldn’t agree more! Thanks for the comment.

  • I've had mine for 5 years without any issues.

  • Mine has been more than fine for years

  • @Guilherme81 lol.. erm.. who are you having a conversation with? this conflab with you is quite bizarre!! :s

  • @thinwire no i don't.... idiot

  • @Guilherme81 excuse me???

  • @thinwire tell that to steve vai idiot... It's not the brand or quality of the instrument that makes the musician or makes anyone mor adult... kid...

  • @chuckst0nes hello, just out of curiosity and because i never leave anything to chance i thought I'd try out your scenario No. 2! (cos i still have these horrid things on my shelf) The screw is as far down as possible inside the supplied strap button and they still come as off, as i thought. So that leaves your No. 1scenario.. which is of course the problem. I wouldn't expect every single one they ever made to not work, but for me, unless a Straplock is 100% safe I'm NOT buying it.

  • No offence to the poster, but this looks like an installation error to me. The Warwick strap locks are very reliable and work perfectly. Due to their design there's simply no way they can fall out like that unless;

    i) they were suffering from a manufacturing defect, or

    ii) the screw holding the button to the instrument wasn't screwed in far enough to allow the pin to secure properly. I'd wager on the second of those possibilities.
