Personally, I think that that style of vocalizing started back in the 1950s; it is well know that Danzig had a thing about emulating Elvis, and that the Misfits sound, as a whole was a kind of dark version of the original rock n' roll of the 50s. I like the Danzig era Misfits, but I do not think that he was the sole originator of the Misfits sound. And, I think that Michale Graves was a great addition to the band. He brought his own original touch to the Misfits sound.

@jeauxdet In a way Glenn did create the Misfits' sound since he did have the idea to write punk songs about B-grade horror films, of course he needed a band to help him out.

this is a good example why Danzig is pissed.. all those "ohh's" and "waaaay-oh's" were invented by Glenn.. its a direct rip... same with the logo, themes, and song writing style.. Jerry just ripped the man off and made a career off his art.... I like Michael Graves but Jerry is kind of a douche

I like the glenn era because thats the original misfits sound. Personally I think he's over rated though. Danzig isnt the greatest shit ever. and neither is michael, but they are both misfits singers. If you're a real fan you'll love everything they do. Graves is my favorite but I love evrything by the misfits because whos in the band isnt whats important. Quit arguing over who was their best singer and love the music. The misfits are much more than glenn danzig and makeup.
