@xVIDxPROx Depends on the country you live in. :)

I have a trek 2.1 that I use for racing, but for around town I would be scared to so much as take it outside my door. Is a recumbent good for that, or would I be better off buying something like the trek 7.3 FX performance-hybrid?

@TheEmmausRoad he is on the right side of the road. which is not the wrong side

You crazy cats - you're on the wrong side of the road :)

@trikemaniacal - Draper Mountain is in Virginia's New River Valley not far from Virginia Tech in Pulaski County. Thanks for watching the ride.

Since I bought my Trice last Fall, I've been watching all kinds of recumbent videos and pairing them with suitable music from my iTunes. Suggestion: Watch your own downhill video, mute the soundtrack and use Red Ryders' "Lunatic Fringe" as background, starting the video a few seconds ahead of the music. Very cool...
Is Draper mtn. somewhere in Penn.?

How long did it take you to get used to running downhill at any speed? It just seems so wrong to go flying around those curves as fast as you were going. I don't have a 'bent but it looks pretty cool to ride.

Personally I'd lose the flag and the flappy clothing. :)

what was the topspeed?

It was about 40 which is slightly less than maximum in order to stay with each other and avoid too much pedaling.
