I think it's criminal that there are so many videos of "Make Them Hear You" on YouTube and none of them are the Brian Stokes Mitchell version. This is a quick something I threw together for the purpose of putting this brilliant rendition of a gorgeous showstopper on YouTube.

The audio is from the OBCR of "Ragtime: the Musical"

  • i just recently discovered Brian. Where have I been? An example of perfect vocal technique. His throat is so open , you could drive a truck through it. And a nice and handsome guy to boot. He could be Obama's brother. WOW !

  • A stunning performance! I don't necessarily think Alan Cumming was undeserving for "Cabaret" but Brian Stokes Mitchell's performance in "Ragtime" is one of the most powerful in the history of musical theatre.

  • That was awesome! He's got skills.

  • They recently announced that he will be playing one of Rachel's dads on Glee. I couldn't help but giggle. If you guys aren't familiar with Glee, Rachel is played by Lea Michele who was Tateh's Little Girl in the OBC of Ragtime. I love when peoples' careers intertwine.

  • Make Them Hear You....no matter how good others may be at the song, will always be Brian Stokes Mitchell's song....no one will ever top him.

  • we are singing this song for our spring concert in my chorus!!! and this is the version my teacher played for us in class before we started learning it :D

  • This version gives me chills every time I hear it.

  • Im lovin' It!

  • This will really help me for solofest! Its great

  • Chills. Every time. :)

  • Super-nice guy. Saw him last night—he has a depth too that comes through best in his singing.
