This video was produced in partnership with the volunteer 'SNV Counts 2010' Southern Nevada 2010 Census Complete Count Committee and KLVX - Vegas PBS. It is the third in a five-part series that will highlight the different ways Nevada families will be impacted by the 2010 census.
The video was unveiled at press conferense held by Congresswoman Dina Titus on March 1st, 2010. It shares the story of one Nevada mother who was unemployed before securing employment with the U.S. Census Bureau. It is a powerful message in a state with the second highest unemployment rate in the nation and where approximately 5,000 people will be hired to support the 2010 census.
It also demonstrates how important the census canvassing effort will be if we expect to achieve a complete count of all residents in 2010. Please take these messages and share them with your family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. Help Nevada fight for it's fair share and fill out your census form.
A special thanks is owed to all volunteer "SNV Counts 2010" complete count committee members who made this possible, especially KLVX - Vegas PBS for donating the time, energy, and resources needed to help share this compelling family story.
