This was the first speed dating event in Omsk. Speed dating in extremely popular in America and has already won over the hearts of young people in Moscow and Petersburg. But in our city, this unusual project came to us from Great Britain. An Englishman Alex Jude met one of our Omichkas (girls from Omsk) when he was in Petersburg, fell in love and came here to work as an English teacher. He then told colleagues about the popularity of speed dating in Europe.

Each date lasts five minutes. The master of ceremonies - Roman Persiyantsev - often has to give the signal to change tables several times because participants are reluctant to break off their conversations. If one dater likes another they put a plus next to that persons number. Mutual pluses mean a match and the organisers then send the couple each others contact details the daters then take things from there.
