Here is a rare recording of Nan Merriman singing the fourth movement ("Urlicht") from Mahler's 2nd Symphony. It is part of a concert on March 25, 1949, with Leonard Bernstein conducting the Harvard Glee Club, Radcliffe Choral Society, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Adele Addison was the soprano soloist.

  • she was married to my grandmother's brother Tom Brand. I never met her but I think she has an incredible voice. Beautiful!

  • Simply beautiful, but Bernstein takes it a bit slow.
