@mkrsk No. When the German surrendered in 1945 to the US, USSR, France and Britain, it was in two places : • at Eisenhower's HG in Reims • in Berlin.
And, yes, the German war machine could not have crushed western democracies without the huge Soviet supplies of raw material – and the security of not having to fight on two fronts as in 1914.

@Hippophilee The Luftwaffe played ahuge role during Battle of France, The Luftwaffe outnumbered the RAF & FAF 2-1, The Luftwaffe was the best in Europe. The BEF and main French Forces were trapped, Why send your Armies to die, When Hitler could just send his Air-Force to "exterminate" the trapped Allies on the Beaches. Hitler sent the Luftwaffe to crush the trapped Allies, And his Armies south for the final push on France with Italy from the South who proved ineffective.

@martynrobin121 That's the best description, thanks. Hitler only retained his attritioned Wehrmacht to send the Luftwaffe in order to finish off the BEF and the French defenders of Dunkirk. He also preferred to give the Luftwaffe full credit for the victory, as the Luftwaffe was much more Nazi than the Wehrmacht.

@slapmyfunkybass Actually, Germany would have won. The Combined sea power of France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, UK and other European countries would have crushed America. (The eruopean fleets would have been captured)

@andrewkenworthy some believe Hitler let the english escape dunkirk in an effort to stop the war between both sides. hotler never wanted war with england and by showing mercy he hoped this would prove it. of course some people dont dare accept hitler was anything more than a warmonger but the truth is that churchill was the man who loved war. he even searched for the chance to fight as a young man and germany would never have peace with england while churchill was in power.

@nojokenygren You are American, not French. If you mother lives in America, she is American of French ancestry. I have German/Swiss/Swedish and Choctaw Indian ancestry, but I am 100% American.
