The french design company Violet launches Mir:ror, an RFID kit that let you connect any object of the everyday life to the Internet. After the success of the Nabaztag Rabbit, the Mir:ror allows any consumer to experience the "Internet of things" at home.
The only thing rescuing these from certain vapourware status is that they've kept the price down to 45 EUR.
Perhaps when people have more RFID chips in their everyday lives these things will catch on. I can't see the ztamps catching on - too expensive to be disposable and for a lot of applications you would need to have loads of readers instead of just one at home.
If I want to ring someone on skype i'll pick them from my contact list: far easier than programming up some wacky device.
