    Unknown origins but the Aussie version suggests he was always in Australia (though the folk-style hints at the composer being an irish immigrant at least)

    Irish version talks of a boy born in ireland who leaves for Ausrtalia etc etc :)

  • One of my fav songs of all time,iam an irish man who lived in oz for two years,i loved the place and people!!!! Ozzies are so like the irish in personality its hard to beleave:)
